"Lost in translation/Perdidos en Tokio" (2003) I didn't like this movie at all, I considered it boring and kind of got lost in many parts of the movie. Also, the characters showed lots of sadness and illness of what they were doing. I also didn't like it, because of all the japones people and their bad acting, in my opinion.  At the beginning, they present us Bob, the man that is filming a whisky commercial.  He is having lots of problemas adapting where he is, to many noises, nothing to see in the television and he doesn't even understand the people that is supposed to help him understand what they are saying. On the other hand, we have Charlotte, a young lady that is their being his husband is working, and su only stays in her room, nobody to talk to and just lying in bed or seeing outside from the big window. B oth of the two main characters aren't enjoying any part of being in Tokio, they are having a miserable life there.  The...

"Strargate, puerta a las estrellas" (1994)

"Strargate, puerta a las estrellas" (1994) This movie was really interest even though it's a really old movie, I'm saying this because of all the scene, it didn't look like the actual movie now a day. Also, it looked so unrealistic. The main characters are, Dr. Daniel Jackson who os the translator and the guy that know all about the hieroglyphic, one that could decipher the code, the second main character was Coronel Jonathan, who was the one in charge and for last the bad guy in the story was the alien, called Ra, who was the enemy of the story. This movie is a story where they travel through time and get to another dimension. Here they find another civilization that speak another language. There were 5 different language that were used in the movie which were English, which was used when they were on earth, studying the hieroglyphics, trying to get the code to open the portal, Arabic, Swedish, Norwegian and Egyptians Language, that came out after they had alrea...

La Interprete

“La Intérprete” The movie "La Intérprete" is a movie that at the beginning I didn't understand what the movie was about. Probably because I didn't understand the plot and the language they were using. After some scene I started to understand. Its a movie that you have to put lots of attention from the beginning to understand, and it's a really good movie. I guess all the In the scene where Silvia and Tobin meet, and Silvia realize that he doesn't believe her, and that he will not protect her. In that scene, as they talk in English and if you pay attention to the subtitles, they don't connect. In the subtitles in Spanish, as they talk, they eat some words, it's have a negative transferencia that are really important for the translation in Spanish to make sense and to understand the message. Here you can see it's a combination of a translation between literal and automatic. You can also hear, how some words you would translated basically are change...

Spanglish

Imagen
"Spanglish" Spanglish is a combination between Mexicans and Americans. Sincerely I HATED the ending of this movie. I was wishing for more than an unfinished ending with lots of gaps.   It has a great beginning, a middle with all the problems presented and the combination of cultures. Also, how in the movie show a person learning English to understand, meanwhile she doesn’t understand anything, and just tries to communicate with expression, hand signs, even when she must ask for helps with her daughter. Lovely Flor was a remarkable character, that represented us when we don’t know any English, and how dedicated we can be when we want to learn something. This movie had lots of meanings, from the two scenarios between Spanish and English, from how Flor Daughter impact as meeting another lifestyle, from Deborah infidelity and the way she treated her daughter and Flor’s daughter and don’t forget the love between Flor and John. This movie has a great message to send. With referen...

"La terminal"

Imagen
"La terminal"   La terminal is a comedy and love kind of story. It’s about Viktor Navorski who arrives in New York, as he arrives there, his hometown where he is from, gets caught up in war. So, he is obligated to stay there in the airport, he cannot touch ground outside the airport, nor he can return to his country.  He must live in the airport where lots of accidents happen to him, like losing his ticket that will provide him food, and the most important where he falls in love with a woman without him wanting.  He also makes lots of friends after nobody likes him and works hard for the lady. After all, the story has a great ending, after all the reason why he was in New York was for his father. In this story, as we analysis it, in their subtitles, I consider it is much more a combination of automatic translation and oblique translation. I think this because some of the phrases aren’t contextualized, they just translated them, and something eats words that a...
